Okay, I guess I don't get the phrasing of "a cross between RPG and literature." That to me sounds like a "Choose-Your-Own-Adventure" story or Zork-style Interactive Fantasy, or a sufficiently multi-pathed RP-focused game such as Fallout: New Vegas. ;)
Or do you mean something like, say, SinaiMUCK with its focus on logging sessions for posterity, where we role-play characters, but with more "meta-plot" control on the part of the players?
