Oh, a bit of context. Recently my mom decided to write a biography that pins down a bunch of events in her life and that of her family (and that would include a young ME). She is a diligent keeper of notes and keepsakes and photos with dates on them and all that, so she's a much more reliable keeper of time than I am. I've been helping out by *editing* her manuscript (it's pretty hefty), and that has brought to the fore a lot of stuff I haven't even given any thought to for decades -- and underscored a few things that I thought I "knew" that patently couldn't have been true. (I mixed up the players in my mind in certain events; so-and-so wasn't still ALIVE back then, or we were still in another state, or something like that which renders impossible what I thought was a pretty solid "recollection.")
