Re: Art: Yes, definitely, there's more motivation to do art when I know it's for a purpose. It's especially disheartening to do artwork for a project and it only MIGHT get used. I've done a massive figure-flat set in the past (for token payment) and while I technically got "paid," a large part of my motivation was that it would be USED. (I went a bit over-and-above with some papercraft models for the set and so forth.) Nothing came of it, and it still bugs me today when I hear mention of the game setting/system in question.
